This year, 3,685 meters of asphalt were laid in Aktau on the three main roads of the city. This was announced by akim of the city Abilkair Baydakov at a meeting with residents, which was held with the participation of akim of the region Nurdaulet Kilybai, the press service of the akimat of the city reports.
As part of the average repair, crushed stone-mastic asphalt concrete (SHMA) is laid on the road. According to experts, this material is of high quality for capital road construction.
Unlike conventional asphalt mixtures, crushed stone-mastic asphalt concrete contains a large amount of crushed stone and stabilizing additives, which makes it more resistant to deformation.
"The length of the central highway of Aktau city is 209 kilometers. This year, as part of the medium-term repairs, three main roads of the city are being updated, on which 3,685 meters of asphalt have already been laid. Currently, specialists are working on the repair of highway No. 12 in the 5A microdistrict, from the monument to Zhalau Mynbayuly to the intersection with the state Enterprise Kaspiy Zhylu, su Arnasy," said Akim of Aktau Abilkair Baypakov.
To ensure road safety, as well as for the convenience of residents and children, 6 new pedestrian traffic lights have been put into operation in the city. Pedestrians can now cross the road safely by pressing a special button.
