According to the ministry's press service, in the Katon-Karagai district, a new air harbor is located between the villages of Katon-Karagai and Ulken Naryn, near the village of Soldatovo, the location from the construction site to the village of Katon-Karagai is 38 km.
In Zaisan, the airport is located on the territory of the former Satpayev military airfield. The location from the construction site to Zaisan is 25 km away.
So, at the initial stage, airports will have 2,200-meter runway for Q400, ATR 42/72, and CRJ 200 aircraft. These types of aircraft make it possible to provide flights from Astana and Almaty to tourist destinations.
It is also possible to extend the runway longer, which will allow receiving wide-body aircraft with large capacity such as Airbus A320, Boeing 737.
