This was made possible thanks to mini-grants from the NGO "Eco Mangystau". At the end of November last year, the RgoEco scientific project competition was held among schoolchildren. One of the winners was Artemiy Rudakov, a student of Samruk digital school.
In the scientific work, it was necessary to show its practical application. As a result of the work on the topic "The second life of garbage", booklets were produced in Kazakh and Russian, which were distributed to schoolchildren. In them, the children were told about what household waste can be recycled into, how to give them a second life and why it is so important to recycle them.
In addition, two composters were installed near houses in Aktau's 5th microdistrict as part of the scientific project. The composter helps to process organic residues into fertilizer. You can put mown grass, peelings and leftovers from vegetables and fruits, eggshells and wilted flowers in it.
All of this is most often sent to dumpsters. However, it is more environmentally friendly to recycle such waste into compost, which is then used as fertilizers for plants. In the spring, this compost will be used to fertilize the soil near several houses at once.
